Millinery MeetUp began as a true ‘meet-up.’ A meet-up of 50 millinery students and 4 millinery instructors in 2014. Founded by Jan Wutkowski and Diane Shaggott, “MMU,” as it’s lovingly shortened to, is North America’s foremost millinery educational and social event. The popularity and success of Millinery Meet-Up grew quickly and in 2016 & 2018 it doubled in size and offered an expansive choice of instruction with tutors from around the world.
In 2019, the conference was acquired by North American Millinery Group represented by Andrea Blohm, Patrycja Grzesznik and Karen Morris. Through the pandemic, the 2020 and 2022 conference program was converted to a virtual school providing online classes and meetups. Karen has retired from the partnership in 2023 to focus on her millinery career. In 2024, MMU returned to its pre-pandemic in-person conference offering variety of classes, with the renowned tutelage, a multitude of sponsors and suppliers bring the tactile experience of millinery materials to live in MMU marketplace. Students couldn’t get enough of the experience and vowed to return in 2026. See this link for testimonials https://millinerymeetup.com/why-do-we-do-millinery-meetup/
