Ride sharing services, Lyft and Uber are also available for transport. Though more economical, availability cannot be guaranteed.

MMU 2026 is being held on the campus of Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, United States.

Arrowmont’s historic campus is located at the gates of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in downtown Gatlinburg. Tucked behind the store-lined Parkway there are two entrances, one via the Anakeesta parking lot and the second via the Baskin Creek Bypass. Traffic on the Parkway can be congested during the warmer months, so we recommend using the Baskin Creek Bypass entrance.

To preserve parking for students and staff, both entrances are gated and will require a code to enter. Please call 865-436-5860 for the code.

Many ask why we choose (relatively remote) art school campus rather than a larger metropolitean area. We believe this creates a unique possibility to build strong connections in our small community of students, instructors and suppliers. In addition, Arrowmont’s amazing art collection, resident artists’ creations, beautiful campus provide ample inspiration.

Health and Safety

It is your own responsibility and choice to get the latest vaccines, wear mask and protect yourself from COVID-19 and other common viruses.  As a courtesy to others, we ask that consider protecting others if you get sick.

MMU organizers do not take responsibility for your medical needs.

Gatlinburg is a bustling city with a lot of great places to visit. We encourage you to employ same safety precautions as you feel comfortable with.

Please use caution on the campus as bears frequently scavenge for food before their hibernation period. Please always carry a flashlight, walk in groups and make noise (for example play music on your phone) to deter bears. Airhorns are available in all open areas, patios and decks. Do not attempt to approach to take cute pictures.
